This Overberg veld fire, in fact, started on Springfontein’s neighbouring farm and later, moved right behind our farm, on the border. We are thankful that no vineyards were harmed or lost, in this vicious spreading fire.
We cannot thank the firefighters, choppers, Overstrand Firefighters, Overstrand Municipality, CapeNature, Grootbos Foundation, Fynbos Trust and all the organisations that assisted us, enough.
A big thank you to Searles’ Garagiste and The Stanford Hotel for all the organising, making and sorting of sandwiches, snacks and refreshments.
