Cape Moby Red

Cape Moby is a red wine from Walker Bay that combines the region’s characteristic freshness and maritime influence with classic varietal character.

The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards and parcels outside the Springfontein estate. The cool coastal climate, the proximity to the Atlantic and the sea-influenced conditions ensure slow ripening, natural freshness and a balanced aromatic profile.

Cape Moby stands for uncomplicated drinking pleasure without sacrificing character and depth. The wines are approachable and fruit-forward, while still showing the spice, structure and freshness typical of Walker Bay.

The grapes are processed with a high degree of manual work and spontaneously fermented with natural yeasts. Depending on the vintage, maturation takes place in a combination of wood and stainless steel to keep fruit, structure and freshness in balance.

Named after the great whales that migrate along the Walker Bay coast, Cape Moby combines its maritime origin with an uncomplicated, distinctive wine style.
